History of our village :


      People who love nature , environment and green meet at Cumhuriyet Köyü. Cumhuriyet Köyü which its history depends on 1929 is located on the Anatolian side of İstanbul. The village’s foundation adventure starts with the immigration of 30 people from Bulgaria, which took place in Ottoman Empire for centuries, to Turkey. They bough a farm called Çavuşlu Çiftliği which situated in Beykoz town and builded up a village with a great effort. The first demarch was a man from the habbitants callad Pir Ali Çoker.

      Because of its geographical conditions people was earning their life by forestry and breeding. The village couldn’t be taken a name until M. Kemal Atatürk had visited there in 1937. Mustafa Kemal had loved this village and gave an order for it to become a modern place. At the same time he learnt that the village hadn’t got a name so he gave it the name of the “republic” which we met hardly. 

      While he was chatting with the villagers he had defined that he wanted to be a member of this natural place. The habbitans who regarded him as anybody else in Turkish Republic gave him one of the best fields of the village as a gift. After his death the field turned into a grove which had taken his name from Atatürk and protected by the habitants. The grove which is being attended by habitants regularly is become the honour source of them.
Cumhuriyet Köyü which contains 8000 m2 land of forest that includes oaken,chest nut, beech and the ash tree And 5000 m2 free land had been builded on 13000 m2 land. There is also a pool in the village.

      Cumhuriyet Köyü is also attracts people, who wants to visit there, with its easy transport. For example after the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge you can fallow the way to Kavacık and then you can arrive there after 15 km.
Cumhuriyet Köy’s basic mainstays are farming and breeding. The village which consists of 350 houses has got primary,secondary and high schools, chemist’s, and a small hospital. It protects its sample village feature with the regular streets,roads and stone bakery.

      Beyaz Bahçe restaurant which was builded in 1987 adapt a philosophy , that anyone else living in a capital city has a missing to the village life.
There ara nearly 20 restaurants, picnic places and horse farms with gardens in Cumhuriyet Köyü. The visitors meet wholly green, quate and peaceful environment when they come to the village. Just by paying the fee of the car park people can spend a nice day with the meal that thay have cooked at home or in picnic places which provides the visitors barbecue serve or else by ordering the meal that they want from restaurants which are under the fruit trees.

      Our visitors can ride a horse as a hobby. They can read their newspapers or have a siesta in a hammack while their kids are playing in the children garden of the restaurants. Also they can play futbol, voleyball, etc or else by trekking in this calm nature they can leave their stressfull life for a while.
You can’t forget the taste of the naturel vegetables and the fruits , fresh butter ,milk and the eggs that you can buy from the villagers’ benches near the way goes to village.
Because of its naturel situation Cumhuriyet Köyü had took place in lots of movies and hosted lots of famous people.
